I am working in the style of Henri Toulouse-Lautrec this month, for a lesson in Let’s Face It class. I love his use of bold chunks of color, whether he was using pastels or oil paints.
I studied a few of my favorites of his, and then went to work, creating something that was inspired by his style.
Un Ami d’Henri – 11 x 14 inch acrylic on stretched canvas (SOLD, thank you!)
I used his warm color palette in acrylics, which is also my favorite…the warm rusty reds, along with the greens. In this case, the greens were an olive color. I love that hint of cool light blue violet that were added for a little dramatic effect.
