Lizelle – 6 x 6 inch acrylic on Ampersand Gessobord    (SOLD, thank you!)

Another portrait. This one so different than the one I showed you yesterday, yet they were made at the same time. I used a painting by Gustav Klimt as my inspiration for this one. His is quite different, but I loved how he had the model posed. My version, shows her looking directly at the viewer, and I love that about her. It was nice to work with a more pastel color palette, and then punch it up with those dots of red on her dress. I am striving for looser brush strokes, and less of them, to get the story across. It takes nerve to say, “Enough” and put the brush away.

“Lizelle” is now available in my online shop.
