The Sandpiper – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand Aquabord art panel

I am back at the ocean again…at least, when I step into the art room. I can almost hear the waves against the shore, and the birds making their calls, when I am immersed in painting these scenes from our recent trip.

This is my first time painting a sandpiper. I love their long curved beaks, and very cute skinny legs. I’ve been wanting to paint them for a while now…so this challenge for the month, 30 paintings in 30 days, is really giving me the drive to get some new subjects painted. There is one more bird painting on its way…but who knows how many more I’ll paint by the time October comes.

The Sandpiper painting is now available for purchase in my online art shop.
