a paint filled January

Leslie Saeta, the artist behind 30 Paintings in 30 Days, suggested that we use the website, PicMonkey, to make a collage of all of our work from January. You might notice that there are 29 paintings in my collage…there is one painting that is a surprise, so I can’t show it on my blog…yet. But I did paint 30 paintings. It does feel good, to see most of the paintings I worked on, in this colorful collage. It makes me feel that I really did accomplish something wonderful for January.

My last three paintings for the January challenge, are now available in my Etsy shop. I painted them all in the same day…

…and Maxine.

They are a continuation of my series, Ladies of Fashion, that I started about a year and a half ago. You may see a bit of Matisse’s influence here, with the bright colors, and the fashionable hats. This was a fantastic way to end the month of vigorous painting! I’m taking a little painting break, but I am doing a bit of drawing, some with pencils, charcoal, and a mix of pastels.

I am sure I’ll be back at the easel, painting my heart out soon!
