For now, I am still enthralled with the timeless beauty of Gustav Klimt’s portraits.
“Golden Hair” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on gesso board. (SOLD, thank you!)
Purple isn’t a color I use much in my mixed media art and in painting, though as a kid, I remember it was my favorite color. But as a contrast color here, to the reds, orange, and gold in her hair, I think it makes quite an impression. I certainly had a great time adding the fun details to her clothes, jeweled collar, and her background. In the right light, she just shimmers with gold. I am starting to feel the allure of what might have tempted Klimt to use gold in many of his portraits.
This is painting # 16, of my 30 paintings in 30 days, for January.
