One of best things about going to the Book Arts Jam last weekend, was sharing my Little Fat Collage Journal with everyone! It was a project I started last year, using a blank Piccadilly Inc journal, and the scraps and bits of ephemera that collected on my art desk throughout the year. I worked on it slowly, and it took me about a year to complete. This book is small…only about 3 x 5 1/2 inches…but MY HOW IT’S GROWN! It’s that “fatness” that makes it so attractive…you just want to pick it up and thumb through it. It feels so good to the touch. And in it, there are all kinds of pieces of art, from little collage vignettes, or stories, to my practice watercolor pieces.
During the show, I offered instruction sheets to those interested in starting a Little Fat Collage Book of their own. Most of those copies were in black and white. But thanks to modern technology (which I LOVE so much) I have now put that instruction sheet in a PDF file for you to download and print from your own computer. And best of all…it’s in color!!!
Click on the photo below, to open the two page instruction sheet in PDF format, or click on the link below the photo. I hope you are inspired to create a Little Fat Collage Book of your very own!
